Hello, my name is Sara Michelle Steeves. I am a Canadian survivor and advocate dedicated to helping women and survivors reclaim their voices, take the tape off their mouths, and tell their truth.
Through sharing my lived experience on social media, particularly TikTok, I work to raise awareness around abuse, coercive control, and survival. I have built a community of nearly sixteen thousand followers, known as my survivor family, where education, support, and honest conversations are centered on safety, validation, and healing.
My story and advocacy work were recognized and amplified when I was picked up by Unfiltered Stories, helping bring my experience to a wider audience and reinforcing the importance of survivor-led conversations. What began as personal healing has grown into a purpose-driven mission rooted in lived experience, compassion, and accountability. I believe silence protects harm, while truth creates change.
I am currently working toward publishing my book, Canadian Soil, a project grounded entirely in my real-life survival experience and recovery. I am also seeking opportunities to share my story on larger platforms, including The Drew Barrymore Show, with the goal of reaching more survivors, raising awareness, and encouraging others to speak openly about their experiences.
My mission is to help women recognize that their voices matter, their experiences are valid, and they are not alone. Healing begins when silence ends, and no one should have to carry their truth by themselves.
